DAMA (Data Management Association) is a vendor independent, not for profit professional association of data and information management practitioners. Its primary objective is to "promote the understanding and practice of managing information and data as key business assets". There are more than 40 DAMA chapters world-wide, with an International Conference being held every year.

DAMA has been in operation in Australia for since the mid 1980s with active DAMA chapters in SydneyMelbourne and Canberra. Each state chapter meets on a regular basis, providing a forum for data industry professionals from private enterprise, all levels of government and educational institutions, to hear guest speakers, network, and exchange ideas.

DAMA Australia holds a national conference each year, alternatively in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. These conferences bring together specialists from all areas of data and information management. You can meet fellow professionals, building valuable informal contacts.

Membership to DAMA Australia is available for corporations, individuals, students and affiliates.
