DAMA Melbourne

October is Agile!

Our thanks to Eva Gardyn who spoke at our September meeting on how the NAB wholesale banking is trying to solve the “Product” Master Data Management problem with the use of an Enterprise Data Model.  Good luck with the presentation in London.

We at DAMA are so ‘agile’ that a new committee was voted at the September meeting as part of the Annual General Meeting.  Nominations were made and the following were unanimously appointed:
President: Bradley Taylor
Secretary: Roger Tall
Treasurer: David Johnston-Bell (by proxy, being in UK, back in Melbourne in November – Richard Kevan to back fill the role until then)

Other committee members, with roles to be determined by the incoming Committee:
Clifford Heath, Martin Spratt, Peter Hughes,  Tim Moon, Tom Sutherland.

With “Agile” all the rage as a methodology, where does Information Management sit in all of this?  Damien Bootsman will present his thoughts as project teams are required to do more with less and we are asked to find efficiencies so that we can get to our end goal quicker.

Online registration and more details can be found here (FREE for DAMA members):  http://damamelbourne6.eventbrite.com/
(Please send an email to damamelbourne@gmail.com once you have registered so I can organise security passes)

We have some more events lined up for November (and possibly Christmas) so keep an eye on the DAMA calender of events.

I hope you get a chance to attend our August event.

Kind regards, Roger.

That is all for now but if you wish to present at a DAMA meeting, please do not hesitate to contact anyone on the committee or send me an email: damamelbourne@gmail.com
