This year's DAMA Canberra conference will be held in Canberra on Thursday, 25th March 2010 at the Hyatt Hotel in Yarralumla.

In a change from previous years, the conference will be held in conjunction with the Australian Computer Society (ACS). DAMA has organised the Conference's data management stream.

The four conference streams are:

  • Data Management - Best practices in data management and how the effective use of data can support business strategies and add value to organisations and their stakeholders.
  • Service Management - Enabling ICT professionals to share ideas on the opportunities available though the implementation of service management, and to discover what works and what doesn’t in the service delivery domain.
  • Personal Development - Helping ICT professionals to develop core non-ICT skills that can help them perform more effectively in their organisation and enhance their careers.
  • Enterprise Architecture - Explore how organisations can build a holistic view of their organisational strategy, processes, information and information technology assets.

The 2010 DAMA/ACS Conference is a convenient one day event starting at 9:00 am on Thursday 25 March and ending with networking between 5:30 and 7:30 pm.

The day will feature plenary speakers followed by breakout streams led by experienced and expert presenters. The lunch, morning and afternoon tea breaks give delegates the opportunity to visit sponsor booths in the exhibition space and to network with colleagues. The event concludes with the UNSW@Canberra LegoTM Robotics Tournament and cocktails commencing at 5:30 pm.

The conference will be opened by John Stanhope MLA, Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory
The keynote addresses will be given by Ann Steward, Australian Government CIO, AGIMO, and Matt Yannopoulos, Chief Technology Officer, Department of Defence.
